Chanel Pre-Fall 2010 Collection

  • So Bring Out the Shopaholic in Me!
Something I noticed about Chanel's Pre-Fall 2010 campaigns and product photos is that, these photos have the Chanel paper bag all over the place!

Got what I mean?

So without hesitation, I browsed through the collection and I've gotta say I really liked some leather goods! These are favourite after all I've browsed through.

The moment I saw this, I went like, woah! It's so shiny~ The buttery quilted lambskin~ If a lady would to carry this to anywhere, she would be the centre of attention =)

*tires screeching sound* Unless there's a Birkin around. LOL!

Furry~ This lil evening clutch is made of Orylag fur (it's a rabbit if you didn't know, just like me) and a strap of pearls. Wow. I guess it should be real pearls. But maybe not Mikimoto standard, or the clutch will cost a bomb!

A normal looking white quilted lambskin Chanel flap bag. Next!

When you look at this, you'll start to tilt your head left and right to get the right shape of the bag. FOCUS! Look straight people! It's a large quilted lambskin tote with an exernal pocket which looks like the stiched-on classic flap bag with the Mademoiselle lock. Now turn your head back up.

Simple, stylish, and convenient. It has no loud patterns nor crazy design, but I'd to say this grey calfskin tote is one of my favourite one among all the other bags. I don't know, I just feel the bag somehow. It has a Mademoiselle lock too~

This might not look the best, but I'm writing about this bag because I saw it personally and checked it out. It's quite a nice bag, spacious, and I like the texture of the nylon, it's different from other designer brands. Unfortunately that time the leather version hasn't arrive yet. If I'm not mistaken, the nylon version retails around RM5700+ and it comes in black and white. No blue for Malaysia. Boo. The leather version comes in black and white and retails for (I think) RM11,350. Chanel prices. Sigh.

Movin' on to shoes~

10.5cm satin pump with pearls. What more do you want? Diamonds? Go find Jimmy Choo.

This is special~ 9cm heeled tweed boots. The must have for your pre-fall wardrobe. I love how you can see some pink and light blue in it. And the finishing touch of this boots is the metallic heel. Perfect.

Gold shiny metallic suede goatskin sandal. With a ruffle flower? Something for the red carpet?

This time for the sneakers Chanel came up with this black quilted nylon sneakers. Nothing special about it, but maybe some guys would kill to get it.

I actually hate sneakers with nylon because, wouldn't the nylon get scratched and would tear easily? Somebody please explain to me and change my views on nylon shoes.

I LOOOOOVE THESE 2 WALLETS! One in metallic quilted lamskin and the other in white calfskin. Oh please keep them for me till the end of the year =D

Last but not the least, accessories! Specifically, bracelets! I really like these bracelets above and I guess that men can wear them too! The first one is a python skin bracelet, the 2nd one a snakeskin embossed lambskin, and the last one fabric. But the main attraction of these bracelets is the Mademoiselle lock. Sweet!

So in conclusion, I think I like the way how Chanel doesn't instantly follow other brands like how Gucci and Louis Vuitton are coming up with pink and red leather goods.

As you can see the pre-fall collection is all about white, grey, black, shiny metallic lambskin and back with the tweeds.

Can't wait for the Fall-Winter collection!

I hope one day I would come home just like this, except with THINGS in those paper bags LOL!

Goodnight.

These Are No Ordinary Heels. Alexander McQueen's.

  • Not Only The Armadillo Heels
Remember the Alexander McQueen Armadillo heels I blogged about last time? Here's the link to the post.

Yeah I've done further research and found some extra info about it.

Here are the celebrities that have worn the Armadillo heels, so far.

Lady Gaga in her Bad Romance video, especially the "I'm a free bitch baby" part.

Fashion icon Daphne Guinness in nude Armadillo heels. Oh the dress is also from Alexander McQueen.

And our "Spaceship" songstress Kelis in nude Armadillo heels and a er... cat suit? And a spiky hairdo and er... hair/tail? Lol.

Well what I didn't realise was the other towering heels that Alexander McQueen designed beside the Armadillos, and they turn out as stunning as the Armadillos!

My favourite so far, the Titanic Ballerina. I think this should be categorized under boots. This heels might look er... a lil "mechanical" but I'd say you'd look stunning if you wear this for any occasion. What I like about his heels is that, the platform height is just nice for the design of the shoe. And of course, the outstanding towering mechanical heels. Later there'll be another picture which shows the front of this shoe having a metal toe plate.

Another one is the Necronomicon inspired heels. I really think the heels were awesome before this until I found out what Necronomicon is. It's something ... demonic. But I stil think it's stunning. =D

So, these are the stunning heels which I adore from Alexander McQueen, but sadly, they won't be released in stores. But IF you MUST have it, I think you can make a special order for it. Just make sure you're ready for the hefty price tag which would be somewhere around USD3,900 up tilll USD10,000!

Oh Oh here's a video from the Fashion Relief for Haiti of Naomi Campbell (Titanic Ballerina), Annabelle Neilson (Necronomicon) and Kate Moss (Titanic Ballerina) all in Alexander McQueen's dress too.

So awesome right? Loved the way Naomi stopped and turn and strut her stuff down the runway. Pity Annabelle, the shoe size were bigger than her feet. I LOVE KATE MOSS! Everything she did on the runway *hearts*

But if you think that USD3,900 is just a lil too much for you and you really want a piece of Alexander McQueen, I guess the Titanic Ballerina pump is the one for you!

This would be the only heel from the Spring/Summer 2010 runway that would be released and it costs at a lower USD1,985. I'm not sure in what colours they come in, all I know is nudish pink and black.

Goodnight.

Perfect Christmas Presents : Animal Themed Gifts

  • Cute and Lovable!
I've always enjoyed receiving gifts related to animals. Be it a keychain, a notepad, or a soft toy. I loved them all. Most of these gifts are usually very cute and lovable. For those who likes animals with more legs would prefer insect-related gift like a rubber spider or a beetle phone strap.

Here I've compiled a few animal-related gifts from designer labels you could give to your friends and family this Christmas.

First up is the cute doggy keychain fron Braun Buffel. I actually fell in love with it when I saw it at Bagaholicboy.com, and looking at its affordable price I definitely had the itch in my pocket to get one! I've actually seen it in person, and I think it's reasonable for such an adorable gift with good quality and material used. And it's not small too! There are a few more animal-related keychains and coin purse from Braun Buffel which ranges from SGD59 - SGD99 (RM150 - RM250). You can check it out here.

(I just came back from Mid Valley, the keychains are at RM199. I think. And yes, they're big for a keychain!)

Next gift is from Coach. Small, cute, simple, and shiny! This sequined red bear would definitely bring out the smile of your loved ones while it shines the Christmas red sequins under light. Definitely a wonderful and yet affordable gift only at USD38 (RM200+, tax on Coach is really high in Malaysia).

Burberry is not left out too y'all. The cute little birdie keychain up there won't fail to make your loved ones smile. At £85, you would get to choose between 4 colours which is green (above), raspberry pink-red, dark blue and gold (which is yellow lol).

A little something more luxurious than the previous ones, is the animal accessories from Louis Vuitton. The one at the top is the animal coin purse is a patent leather (Vernis) purse with a little bit of snake skin which retails at USD500. The one at the bottom is a bird coin purse with a D-hook on it at it comes slightly lesser at USD340. Definitely a must-have for Louis Vuitton fans.

I like this. Prada has came up with A LOT of gifts which most of them are keychains like the plexi glass bear (left), printed fabric bear (middle) and leather cute weird robotic keychain lol (right). Of course there are MANY more from which to choose at Prada's website and they range from USD180 up to USD195. Very cute yet classy (love the gold plated tag).

This one has been around for some time, but it's never too late nor outdated to give someone the adorable Gucci dog keychain for Christmas. Each of these Gucci dog keychains have different names and they are all made in GG fabric with a little bit of leather. Each of these retails at USD150. There are also some in white Guccisima leather, which I think costs around RM600, I think.

Another one from Gucci is the Gucci Mouse Purse, which currently can be found at Net-A-Porter
selling at £145. Lol I think it's kinda cute. I think I might laugh all night long if I stare at it the whole night. I don't know why, lol.

Woooo... A little luxury from Bottega Veneta. The phone strap above is (I believe) a cat shaped one in blue crocodile skin. It retails for USD100. It's really small for such a price, but reasonable for a crocodile skin item. There are 2 other shapes too in different colours.

Besides phone straps, Bottega Veneta has a line of jewelry collection which features insects like bugs and beetle. The bug ring above is actually oxidized silver (love the colour gradient) and it retails at USD360.

Besides the ring there are many more for you to choose, from necklaces to earrings to bracelets that could cost up to USD2380! Pricey, but definitely a statement piece, especially at Christmas dinners.

Last but not least, if you wanna give a top luxurious gift, you would definitely have to check out Tiffany! They have A LOT of animal-related gifts ranging from pendants, to rings, to charms, bracelets and brooches! A few example is the LadyBug charm in 18k yellow gold with enamel retailing at USD750, the octopus in 18k yellow gold with 2 diamonds retailing at USD500, the dragonfly in platinum with diamonds and a rock crystal (I think) at USD2,980, and last but not least, a butterfly clip in 18k gold and platinum with diamonds and coloured gemstone retailing at USD30,000.

Of course there are many more brands you can definitely check out like Tod's which has the keychain with little animals on it, Hermes animal-shaped coin purse in exotic skins or even Cartier panther jewelries!

But when you give these gifts, give it with a cheerful heart, or it has no worth at all. Have a great time finding gifts for your loved ones. =D

Finally! Beyonce has a...

  • Birkin!!!
A Birkin!!! Finally! She is one of the celebrities that doesn't have a Hermes Birkin bag. She once said that spending US$8000 on a bag is crazy, that's why she doesn't own a Birkin.

So how about this? She owns this bag. It's a Louis Vuitton Tribute Patchwork Bag. The top one is US$45,000 and the bottom one is US$38,000. Beyonce has the one at the bottom. What is US$8000 compared to US$38000?

But the thing is, it wasn't Beyonce that bought it, it was Jay-Z that bought it for her. And not only 1 did he buy, he bought several Birkins and the bill totals up at US$350,000. Wow. A crocodile skin one amongst the many perhaps?

Some Celeb Style :)

  • Expensive Style~
Ok I have a couple of things to blog, and so I'll do with this today.

Kim Kardashian, famous for carrying her Birkin almost everyday, and it never gets boring! Tyra Banks once said on an America's Next Top Model episode, "Never repeat a statement outfit.", but I believe this isn't a statement outfit and can be repeated! =D

A turtle neck t-shirt (can be replaced with round-neck t-shirt), a blazer (can be replaced with a jacket) and tight-fit pants with a pair of (I believe) a Christian Louboutin heels. Oh I love her necklace too.

Going somewhere Paris? Here's Paris (heading off to Paris?) with a blue leather biker jacket, blue low-cut top, skinny jeans and a pair of black boots. It never goes out of style! Oh and not to forget a HUGE Louis Vuitton Multicolore suitcase being carried into a Barbie's Bentley Continental GT. I can't see what's on her neck, but I know I saw a huge ring there!

So what's your favourite style? For me, one of my signature look is a blazer or a jacket with a t-shirt and fitting jeans. Oh, and a pair of lace-up shoes makes my day. =D

Designer "Birkin"

  • Or Should We Call it, Firkin?
I don't know why, or is it a trend now of having a Birkin inspired bag?

Well some of these "inspired" bags do come out nicely, but mostly they look just awkward. And what's more awkward is that, recently there are SO MANY designer labels that came out with Birkin inspired bags. Have a look here.

Burberry. As it was seen on the Burberry Prorsum Menswear for Autumn/Winter 2011, I think this "Firkin" doesn't look that bad. I like the red leather trims, but I'm not sure about the canvas though. I would fall for it if the canvas was dyed in a light red colour. What's ok for me on this bag is the lockpad, it is not exactly like the Birkin's. Oh by the way, you can order this bag RIGHT HERE for GBP1,195/US$1,895 and it's only for a limited time (or you'll have to wait till the winter collection comes out)!

The "Grunge" Birkin by Mihara Yasuhiro. Lol to that. What I think is, if you want to get an "inspired" designer bag, get one that looks FAR AWAY from the authentic one. One that looks very ... "inspired". Ok fine, in my language, fake. Well, this bag is now available at Club 21, Four Seasons Hotel, Singapore, for only S$1490. "Inspired", weird, but still, it has a designer label on it, and it's in real leather. Why not?

(Ugh, Malaysia still doesn't have any Club 21 store except for that mini booth at Parkson, Pavilion.)

Furla. LOL. This one's a see-through bag, and at the description section of this bag, it says that this feature would allow inspection at the airport more convenient. Lol? But why would I wanna let everyone see what I'm gonna carry up to the plane? But still I wouldn't mind getting it for shopping. And since it's still a designer bag, why not splurge US$540 for something a little more "convenient"?

Ah, Gucci. I have seen one in Python skin myself and I think I kinda liked it. The thing was, it was open. The "Girkin" (Gucci Birkin, geddit? XD) above is closed, and for me ... it's just hideous. Really. Oh well, what more to say. The one on the left retails for US$5300 and the other one retails for US$4200. Both are 37cm long.

These ones are 32cm long. It comes Violet, Green and Taupe. The violet and green one retails for US$3,600, and the one in taupe, US$4,500. Don't ask me why. Oh they have the 32cm "Girkin" in orange and violet crocodile skin too and both retails for US$26,000. I would definitely LOVE to see these 2 in person.

This one's ... hmmm ... not too bad. 37cm long, in snake skin (oh yeah I have an obsession with snake skin XD) but I don't know how much this one costs. I'm sure it has a hefty price tag.

Last but not least, a "Girkin" for the men. This one, I approve! It looks SO MUCH better than the women's "Girkin". I also don't know how much this costs. If it weren't for the crocodile skin, this would have been up to my 2011 resolutions list.

So, you've seen the "Firkin"s which is the "Bur-kin", the "Mirkin-Yirkin", the "Fur-kin" and the "Girkin", or perhaps, "Gur-kin" (Goor-keen LOL!). Some are nice, some are REALLY wonderfully made, some awkwardly attractive, others, ugh. But always remember...

Nothing beats the original Birkin.

Hmmm ... since a Birkin (according to advice and online forums) could have a waiting list of 2 years and up to 6 years, I was thinking of placing an order for one, any advice for me anyone?

Gold Gold Gucci!

  • Going Gold this Summer
Actually, I'm hunting for gold-plated designer jewelries (or any mid-class brands), and I have found quite a number, but the only issue I have is money. LOL! I'm officially broke now.

One of the brands that I would definitely LOVE to own (but no money :( ) is Gucci. Gucci has came up with several selection of gold-plated jewelry.

Bamboo bracelet. This one's a bracelet with A LOT of metal gourmette chains bundled together and has a piece of bamboo wood and one end. Very nice, classic, very Gucci, but I do wish the bamboo wood came in a lighter wood colour. As "much" as it looks, it is as heavy as my phone, which is at 120g.

This one's also in metal and bamboo wood, a woven motif cuff, but this one's a little bit like Bottega Veneta. And no, it doesn't weigh any lighter, in fact, it weighs at a heavy 212g and is 5cm wide. So "MUCH" for a bracelet.

And here's the metal necklace with ALOT more chains lol. And there's bamboo wood too (perhaps at the clasp part). Surprisingly, this one weighs at 220g and it's 96cm long.

Last but not least, the bracelet with berber motif. It's so "fish-scale"-ish. But I like! And moreover this is the only piece that is on my list. It weighs at a MUCH lighter 66g, and is 65mm wide. Perfect! But I am sure it won't come at a cheap price.

All the golden jewelry has no price stated in the website yet, but I really hope to get the berber motif bracelet.

Here's one for the guys. This one's a bracelet plaque done in sterlng silver with palladium finish with leather straps. Weighing at 50g, this one has a price of US$995.

So summer is coming soon, and golden jewelry pieces are a MUST-HAVES this season. So go hunt one for yourselves now!
